TOPLIFE LODGE

Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you use this website or book a room at TopLife Lodge, Manzese, TipTop, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. They describe how booking here actually works. Where a rule has not yet been set by the lodge, this page says so instead of inventing one.

1. What we provide

TopLife Lodge provides accommodation. This website lets you check whether rooms are free for your dates and reserve one directly with the lodge. Using the website or making a booking means these terms apply to you.

2. Making a reservation

When you choose your dates and submit the booking form, you are asking the lodge for a room. The booking system checks live availability at that moment and records your request with your name, contact details, dates, party size and the room selected.

A room is allocated to your booking. Availability shown on this site is live, but a room is only held for you once your booking is recorded, and the lodge will confirm it.

3. How many guests a room takes

Every room at TopLife Lodge takes a maximum of 2 guests. There are no rooms for three, four or more people.

Rooms differ in price. That difference is about the room itself, not about how many people may stay in it. A more expensive room does not sleep more guests.

The booking system enforces this. A booking for more than two guests in one room is refused by the server, not merely hidden in the form.

4. Children

Children count towards the two-guest maximum in the same way adults do, and a child cannot stay without an adult. In practice that means:

  • Two adults in a room: accepted
  • One adult and one child in a room: accepted
  • Three adults in a room: refused
  • Two adults and one child in a room: refused
  • One adult and two children in a room: refused
  • A child with no adult: refused

Larger parties are welcome; they need more than one room.

5. Room rates

Rates are shown in Tanzanian Shillings, per room, per 24-hour stay period. The rate depends on the particular room you choose and what that room offers. It does not depend on the number of guests, because every room takes the same two.

The lodge does not currently apply a tax or a service charge on top of the room rate. If that changes, the change will be shown before you book.

6. Your stay period

A stay here is measured in 24-hour periods from the time you actually check in. It is not measured from midnight, and it does not end at a fixed hour of the morning.

If you check in at 14:30, your paid stay period ends at 14:30 the following day. Staying beyond that requires another paid stay period.

7. Check-in and check-out

Check-in is available at any time of day or night. Your stay period begins at the time reception actually records your arrival.

Check-out is 24 hours after that recorded check-in time. Because check-in is flexible, the lodge does not operate fixed clock times for arrival or departure.

Please bring one valid identification document: a NIDA card, a Driver’s Licence or a Voter’s ID. It is needed to complete your registration at the desk.

8. Payment

No online payment provider is connected to this website, so no payment is taken here. Your reservation is arranged directly with the lodge, and reception will confirm how to settle your stay when your booking is made.

The website will only ever name a payment method that is both switched on and fully configured in the lodge’s own system. If a method is not usable, it is not advertised.

9. Changing or cancelling a booking

If your plans change, contact the lodge as early as you can and we will do what we reasonably can to help.

The lodge has not yet adopted a formal cancellation or refund policy, so this page does not state a deadline or a refund percentage. Any refund is at the lodge’s discretion until a policy is published here. This is named below as something still to be decided.

The lodge may cancel or move a booking where it has to, for example if a room becomes unusable. In that case we will tell you as soon as possible and offer an alternative or a refund of anything you have paid for that booking.

10. What we ask of you

  • Give accurate information when you book, and at the desk
  • Treat the room, the Guest Lounge and the rest of the property with care
  • Follow the lodge’s house rules and any lawful instruction from staff
  • Respect other guests
  • Take responsibility for damage or loss you cause
  • Do not exceed the two-guest limit for your room

11. Availability

What the website shows is drawn from the live booking system. Rooms are released as they become free, so dates that are not available now may become available later. A room is not held for you until your booking is recorded.

12. Information on this website

The lodge may update room descriptions, rates, amenities, policies and availability from time to time. We aim to keep this site accurate, and where we are unsure of something we say so rather than filling the gap.

13. Liability

The lodge is responsible for providing the accommodation you booked with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Beyond that, the lodge is not responsible for loss it could not reasonably have foreseen, or for events outside its reasonable control. Please look after your own belongings.

14. Privacy

What the lodge does with your information is set out in our Privacy Policy. The rules the booking system itself applies are summarised on the Booking Terms page.
